Our Farms & Local Companies

The list of Local Farms and Businesses that provide us with fruit, vegetables, and other products is growing daily.
The good thing about buying from local farms is the high quality and freshness.
The bad thing is that small farms produce in small quantities. So, our local offerings change daily and tend to sell out quickly.
House of Hope

A local non-profit, House of Hope was our first partner. We leased land to House of Hope for $1 a year and raised money for the construction of the House of Hope Agricultural and Production Farm through the Palm City Pumpkin Patch.

Phase 1 was a small greenhouse and raised planting beds. Building on their success, House of Hope was able to raise money to construct a large greenhouse from which up to  4,000 pounds of fresh produce a month will be harvested and distributed to House of Hope clients, local soup kitchens, and economically challenged communities.

Some of their fresh-picked produce will also be sold in our store.

Colab Farms

A trailblazer in farming developments, the mission of Indiantown's CoLab Farms is to harvest fresh, quality produce sustainably using organic methods. We believe in using Florida's best renewable resource, sunlight, to it's maximum potential to have a positive impact on our health and food systems.

While the aeroponics towers are used for growing lettuces, kale and herbs, about half the greenhouses are used to grow vine vegetables like tomatoes, eggplants and cucumbers in coco peat — the hair of coconuts. It’s used as a growing medium because it retains water and allows the plant roots to have better access to air better than traditional soil. We grow vegetables that we believe thrive in South Florida's tropical environment, like tubers, root vegetables and edible perennials, using traditional soil.

Our methods eliminate the need for pesticides, reinforcing our commitment to using organic methods for all our growing. Our dedication to education and innovation allows us to reach our higher goal of creating a well-informed, eco-friendly and well-fed society.

Shadowood Farm

Less than a mile away, Shadowood Farm is devoted to teaching people how to grow their own organic food and sharing that gloriously GOOD food with others.

This ten acre, solar powered, experimental farm began growing organic vegetables and fruits in 2010. Prior to 2010, we spent over two decades growing Native plants.

Organic and sustainable are more than just fashionable buzz words around here. On October 10th, 2018, Shadowood Farm officially became Certified Organic as part of the USDA National Organic Program.

For the last eight years, people have been able to rent a garden space and grow their own food; purchase food grown here on the farm; attend our various "how-to" workshops to learn better ways to grow food at home; and rent the farm for special events. Our 9th season is underway and we’re looking forward to the bounty it will bring.
